What is high friction road surfacing?
High friction surfacing (HFS) is a surface treatment that enhances the friction between a road and a vehicle's tyres, reducing the risk of skidding and improving braking distances. It does this by creating a textured surface with numerous tiny contact points, known as micro-texture, allowing for better grip, especially in wet condition. It is a highly effective surface treatment proven to increase the skid resistance of asphalt roads and other high transportation areas.
